Kane County Hospital is having Santa’s Choice of Trees silent auction. Several departments throughout the facility have opted to donate the decorations for our genuine simulated Christmas Trees. Proceeds from this event will be applied to the cost of new flooring for the resident’s hallway in our Skilled Nursing wing.

Lee Anne Chamberlain donated her time and talent to design a warmer and more "home-like" atmosphere in the Nursing Unit. The remodel was basically for the resident’s great room. KCH would like to carry Chamberlain’s theme into the hallways leading to resident rooms.

Our staff is coming up with creative ways to raise those funds. To date we have 5 trees which will be in the auction. The Clinic staff (who are the trend setters for this function) are creating the "Gingerbread Man, Gingerbread Man" tree. Our Nursing staff will be designing the "Cowboy Christmas." Health Information Management and the Dietary department will be adding a "Scrap Booker’s Dream" tree to the line. The Business Office team is bringing us "An Old Fashioned Christmas" and the Laboratory crew is sending us a "Truffle Tree."

The opening bids for these trees will begin at $200. The bidding process will open on December 1st and run through the 10th. The trees will be on display in the Clinic foyer beginning November 22nd. There will be bid forms available at the Clinic front desk. There will also be a deposit box for your bid. While you are in the clinic placing your bids you may want to stop by and visit our residents, look at there new living room and wish them a happy holiday season.
