Chris Kane was born and raised in Jamestown, New York. He lived in Jamestown until he was 18 years old.
When he was young he attended Camp Onyasa summer camp. He then became employed by Camp Onyasa and worked in the kitchen, became a swimming instructor and counselor. His summer camp experiences hold some of his most favorite memories.
Chris spent three years in the Navy as an Aviation Maintenance Administrationman. His job duties focused on helicopter inspections.
His favorite subject in highschool was history. The love of history soon turned into a full blown hobby. For about 10 years Kane belonged to SCA, the Society for Creative Anachronism, "The SCA is an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of pre - 17th century Europe." Taken from www.sca.org. Chris belonged to a "kingdom" where realism was key to participation. You walked the walked and talked the talk, including clothing and weapons. To this day one of his hobbies is collecting swords.
Chris is currently enrolled in a course for video game development. With his background and experience as a member of SCA I would think we can look forward to some interesting games. (Good Luck Chris, sounds fun to me.)
In real life Kane became a night auditor for Holiday Inn, Warren, Pennsylvania. Through the corporation’s intranet he began talking with Lori Banks Kane. They communicated for several years, then in 2003 Lori invited Chris to Kanab for Christmas. He not only liked what he saw, he liked who he saw. Chris moved to Kanab the following year, the couple were wed and have become quite the team.
Chris enjoys swimming, learning the guitar and four wheeling. (He isn’t quite convinced his father-in-law isn’t trying to shorten his life expectancy with some of the quad trips he participates in. But he assures me he and Val get along well:)
Kane has worked in the dietary department of Kane County Hospital since September 2006. "I like working in the kitchen, Rose (Huntington) is a good boss. In fact, since I have been in Utah I have found that the people are just good." Chris had some health issues last year and related, "I have learned to appreciate the compassion our hospital and community extend to others. It’s great to live and work where people really do care about you."
