Trudy Riding Yoho, Miss KHS 19??

No I don’t want an answer to what year Trudy was Miss Kanab High School, I am just saying she was terribly involved in her high school days and still is.

Trudy was born and raised in Kanab and proud of it, as she should be. Her favorite subject at KHS was social hour. As is true with the Riding sisters, Trudy and Tracy, they are outgoing, good at what they set out to do and fun.

It was hard for Trudy to recall any specific "moments" in her younger years, I suppose because she was always so busy. One particular youth moment did surface. Her family was having a private Colorado river trip. Because of other commitments Trudy was unable to launch with the family but she and a friend convinced the group to meet them on the river later on in the trip. Well she hiked down from the south rim to hit the appointed date and time and things went quite well until it started raining. The duo hunkered up to get out of the rain when her family began to pass by them. Thankfully Rick Pierson heard their hails and the planned pickup went without a hitch.

She also recalled her senior year with some giggles. She had a rather relaxed senior schedule. First period was with Mr. Walker, who signed her yearbook with, "I am going to miss missing you in class." Second was a government class, third she was a teacher’s aide with Harold Hamblin. One of the kids in the class was Darrin Ott, boy have the tables turned. Fourth period was drama, on to fifth as office help, then seminary ending the day with cheerleading. Yeah life was pretty tough. Trudy is still very active with the high school. She participates and coordinates several fund raisers in the KHS Boosters for boys and girls sports activities, drama club and Xpress.

Let’s not forget her roles as Vice President of the Kanab EMTs, is an EMT-I (intermediate), a CPR instructor and an EMT instructor. Oh and did I forget to mention she works full time at Kane County Hospital.

Trudy has worked several areas in the hospital since 1998. Currently her desk and family photos are found in Health Information Management. "I love coming to work. I enjoy helping people," was her closing comment.

Well guess what. We love having her as part of our team. Trudy is a true asset and just fun to have around.
