Laretta, wellness is a way of life.

Laretta Crofts was born in Hatch, Utah. She is the youngest of six children. She tells me, "I was almost an only child. I am eleven years younger than my sister. I was not a planned baby but mom always called me her bonus."

Laretta grew up snowmobiling, horseback riding and snow tubing. Her love of the outdoors and animals is with her today and among her list of favorites. "My closest friend had horses and snowmobiles. Life wasn’t quite as fun when she moved to Las Vegas," Crofts mentioned.

Laretta attended Panguitch High School. She enjoyed taking home economics and loved being on the drill team for 3 years. She did mention something about lunch break being her favorite subject though.

Crofts came to Orderville one year for a dance and met Philip. They dated for a couple of years, married and moved to the metropolis of Orderville which was quite a bit bigger than Hatch.

Laretta has always been into exercise. "When my kids were little my friend and I would walk around the playground while the kids played. We got double therapy," she giggled. Currently she is jogging 4 to 6 miles a day 5 to 6 days a week. She is a firm believer, "exercising helps reduce depression, anxiety and stress."

Crofts enjoys being with her family and supports the kids however she can. She loves reading, hiking and blogging and her dog, 3 cats and parrot.

Laretta joined Kane County Hospital December 28, 2005. She is Dr. Bowman’s Medical Assistant. "The favorite part of my job is watching moms and their pregnancies progress, then watching the babies grow up." She went on to tell me how much she appreciates the girls she works with in the clinic. "They are always willing to help. I depend on Kim (Snedeger) a lot, she keeps us organized."

KCH is awfully lucky to have Laretta with us. She not only promotes a positive and healthy attitude in the clinic but she lives what she believes. "I don’t run for my physical health I run because it’s wonderful for my mental health."
