Marcia Crofts was borne in Safford, AZ as Marcia McBride. She was in the middle of her sibling group having 2 sisters and 3 brothers. The McBride kids were raised in Pima, AZ.
"I was kind of a nerdy kid, but not really reserved," Marcia quipped.
Marcia went to Eastern AZ College, EAC, in Thatcher, earning her LPN license. While in school her sister convinced her to go on a river trip down the Greene River. What her sister didn’t tell her was that she knew there were going to be 3 or 4 single guys in the group.
"Kent was fun and didn’t push. I enjoyed watching the way he interacted with his son Tyrell." Marcia continued with, "We started dating a few weeks after the trip and were married three months later." With a slight pause and in her soft spoken manner she added, "He’s wonderful."
The Crofts were married in Nov. but stayed in Thatcher until Marcia completed her schooling. In May 2005 the couple relocated to Orderville. Shortly after the move she was able to join the Kane County Hospital staff.
She started with KCH in Oct. 2005, went back to school at Mohave Community College and became an Registered Nurse. She expressed her excitement about the new cross-training program KCH is starting. Marcia wants to continue her education, with future plans which include going back to school and obtaining her BS and then on to her Master’s in nursing.
She is truly dedicated to the residents of Kane County Skilled care. "They have taught me so much." She also said, "I have been able to help in several end of life situations. Some of those experiences have been truly spiritual."
Marcia and Kent enjoy camping, fishing and hiking with their kids. Her family owned a cabin in the Graham Mountains. "We called it camping but it really wasn’t, not like we camp out now."
She also enjoys reading, gardening and some sewing. Those are the things she does in her spare time. She not only works at KCH full time but also serves as Primary President and is mom to 7 children.
Soft spoken yes. Caring absolutely. Strong, there is no question. Marcia is truly a great addition to our nursing staff and brings a genuine warmth and sincerity with her.
