Wayne Nielson PA-C joins Kane County Clinic

Wayne Nielson is originally from Salt Lake City. After completing high school, he served as a missionary in Moscow, Russia. Following his service in Russia, he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing Science from the University of Utah and a Master’s degree in Audiology from Brigham Young University. Nielson worked as an audiologist performing hearing and balance tests at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center from 2000-2004 and Tanner Clinic from 2004-2007.

Although Nielson enjoyed audiology, he wanted to be able to do more for his patients and so he decided to became a physician assistant. He attended the University of Utah Physician Assistant Program from May 2007 to August 2009. In June and July of 2009, Nielson worked at Kane County Clinic and developed a love for the area and the people. When he discovered an opening at the clinic in Kanab he quickly applied in hopes of returning.

On November 2, 2009 Wayne Nielson PA-C, began full time in the Kane County Clinic. You may call 644-4100 to schedule an appointment.

Wayne is the second oldest of 6 children. He enjoys running, camping, fishing, world war II history, woodworking and karaoke. In parting Nielson commented, " I enjoy studying languages and cultures. It is wonderful to meet people from different walks of life."

Between Wayne’s skills, hobbies and love of a diverse culture I believe he has found his new home. We would like to welcome him to the Kane County Clinic and our community.
