Lynn Griffin’s award winning art on display at KCH

                              Country Lane, by Lynn Griffin
The majestic beauty of the Escalante, Utah area has been captured in its color and history by internationally known artist Lynn Griffin. His work is currently on display for Kane County Hospital’s Healing Arts art rotation.

Griffin began his interest in art as a young boy. As his appreciation of his western heritage grew, his art developed into a visual re-enactment of history and life. His art and story have been featured in several magazines including the cover story of Illustrator Magazine.

His work will be on display at Kane County Hospital until September 21st. If you have an interest in fine art this display will truly be one you want to make the effort to come and see. If you have an interest in southern Utah history, this is a show you will want to make the effort to see.  It has been up less than a week and the comments have been those of pure awe. You will be able to purchase his work at our Healing Arts reception on the 21st of Aug.

In 2012 Griffin suffered a heart attack and was unable to paint. During his recovery phase he channeled his art into a book of cartoon sketches which began with cartoons of his care givers. (hmmmm, not so sure that was a good idea!) He credits the EMTs and medical staff in both Garfield and Washington counties for getting him back physically and mentally to a place where he can paint once again. If you would like to get a peek at his work visit his website at lynngriffinart.com.

Lynn and his wife Judy will be on hand with his art work, sandstone art paintings and his book “Nonsense and Some Horse Sense”,  at the Healing Arts reception. He will have pieces for sale and I am sure he will be signing books as well. He will also have his pieces on display and for purchase at Western Hills in Kanab from the evening of the 21st through Saturday the 23rd. So if you are interested stroll on down the street a bit farther than the traditional booths and stop by. If you would like to contact Judy about purchasing any of his work please call (435)616-1943.
KCH will be hosting his reception on Thursday, August 21st at 5:00 PM in the hospital lobby. As usual our dietary staff is supplying light refreshments
